Survival TV shows have great entertainment value. People of all ages love survival shows. Personally, I always find myself binge-watching Business Documentaries. But now, I’ve also started loving the many popular survival shows. These shows have also educative value. It is incomplete to learn survival skills just by reading books.

A lot of people will benefit from seeing these shows. Let’s have a look at top survival TV shows.

It is a famous survival tv show hosted by Bear Grylls on the Discovery Channel UK. The series was first shown on Channel 4 and then it moved to Discovery Channel UK. The series was produced by famous Diverse Bristol production company. The show was first broadcast on 10th November 2006. Before its broadcasting a pilot episode “The Rockies” aired on 10th March 2006.  Each episode premise that Bear Grylls is left in a survival region with his crew. He shows how to survive in an adverse environment and find a way back to civilization. He tells us what to do when someone fall in an adverse situation and how to escape without injury. This Tv show has crossed 7 successful seasons. Though a lot of criticism achieved this show, but it also got huge positive responses.

This is an American TV show that aired on Discovery Channel. A pair of survival experts instructs us how to survive in a challenging environment. In the first two seasons, the show featured the survival skills of Cody Lundin and Dave Canterbury. During the third season, Canterbury was replaced with Joseph Joe Teti. In season four Cody was replaced with Matt Graham. Beginning of season seven, Teti and Graham replaced with Grady Powell and Bill McConnell. This TV show has crossed 7 seasons. Dual Survival generally featured on a deserted island, stranded in an arid desert or lost in a forbidding jungle. This show first aired on June 11, 2010, and the last episode of season seven aired on January 13, 2016.

3. Ultimate Survival Alaska

Ultimate Survival Alaska

It is an American tv reality competition series. It was produced by Brian Catalina Productions and aired on National Geographic Channel on 12 May 2013. Ultimate Survival Alaska featured on survivalist men and women who were competing with each other in a wilderness environment in Alaska. Survivalists were dropped in an adverse area in Alaska by aircraft and they had to compete in races through unpredictable weather, hostile predators, and barren landscapes. This series was run till season 3 and then it was canceled

4. Alone

Alone

It is an American reality TV series aired on the History Channel. Russ McCarroll and Zachary Behr were the producer of this show for the History Channel and Gretchen Palek, David George, Brent Montgomery and Swan Witt of Leftfield Pictures. It was filmed in northern Vancouver Island in British Columbia.

This Tv show basically featured the self-documented day to day activities of 10 individuals who attempt to survive in the wilderness for as long as possible.

The participants were isolated from each other and all types of human contact. The declaration was, who remains on the island the longest wins $500,000 grand prize. This show premiered on 18 June 2015 and the second season aired on 21 April 2016. This series earned a total of  2.5 million viewers.
